Hen Peck a Patriotic finish

I stitched Hen Peck by Plum Street Samplers on 14 count Venetian Stone and used the following colors: CCW Barn Door, Black Coffee, Pea Pod, Bamboo & Wavy Navy; DMC 747, 680, 783.

I mounted my stitched piece on sticky board and used Stitching Stripes by Stitching with the Housewives behind that. I then hot glued both pieces to the Tall house by 141 Design Company that I had painted black. To finish the top I made a bow from ribbon I bought at Michaels and tied white twine around the middle which I also bought at Michaels.

Kind Words by Primrose Cottage Stitches

I stitched with the called for colors on 25 count Lugana in the color Cloud.

Kind Words by Primrose Cottage Stitches

Finishing:
I mounted my stitching on sticky board and backed it with black stitching stripes by Stitching with the Housewives, which was also mounted on sticky board. I used a Hive backer from 141 Design Company that I decoupaged the new yellow Priscillas Pretty Plaids on and painted the back of the hive with the color Lamp Post by Bungalow 47 before gluing it together.

I used ribbon from Michaels to make a double bow and then tied twine around honey dippers to place in the middle of the bow.

Flea Market Baskets

I stitched the middle star and the churn dash blocks from the middle of the pattern and have turned it into a pillow for my dough bowl. I stitched this on 25 count lugana in the color cloud by Lori Holt using the called for colors.

I used the new green Chelseas Checks fabric from Stitching with the Housewives; and Lori Holt's vintage trim in the color Tea Rose
I used a piece of wool from a pack I ordered from Primrose Cottage and a piece of fabric to cover where I cut open the back to stuff the pillow. I also added a safety pin with 2 of Lori Holt's buttons from her Stitched collections.

Seasons of the Heart - Summer Pillow

The next pillow from the Seasons of the Heart chart, by With Thy Needle and Thread, I will be starting is Summer! I am so excited to get into patriotic stitching and even pull out some of my WIPS that are close to being finished. I will be picking my own colors for the Summer chart from my stash. When I am choosing colors for this chart in particular I am trying to match floss that I have to the colors in the picture.

The colors I have chosen are:

DMC 422 → CCW Mariner's Compass

DMC 680 → CCW Honeycomb

WDW Grits → CCW Bamboo

WDW Pamlico → CCW River Rocks

WDW Twilight → WDW Fathom

WDW Pea Coat → WDW Blacksmith Blue

WDW Deep Sea → CCW Blue Corn

WDW Oscar → CCW Pine Needles

WDW Olive → CCW Weeping Willow

WDW Oilcloth → CCW Muddy Puddle

GA Woodrose → CCW Used Brick

GA Heirloom Gold

CCW Chili Pepper → CCW Campfire

CCW Campfire → CCW Cherry Cobbler

CCW Eggshell

Here is my small start. I had already stitched another window and the door however when I went to fill in the red I realized I had miscounted and had to frog a whole section. I decided to go to the top of the house and start from there. I will share more on my weekly flosstube @sweetwaterstitcher.

Join me and my friend Holly @mrsjonesstitches in our stitch-a-long and use the hashtag #seasonsoftheheartsal

Hope to see you stitching with us 🧵
